The test of a company’s approach to corporate responsibility risk is the extent to which its strategy is implemented throughout the business. Sancroft has a wealth of experience in helping companies integrate new environmental and social strategies throughout their business, so to protect brand value and enhance competitive advantage.

Although much of our work is at or near board level, Sancroft has considerable practical experience in helping companies introduce the mechanisms and machinery for change. Typically, this has involved reviewing working procedures, establishing appropriate targets for improvement, supporting internal training, and promoting external dialogue with interested parties. We have also worked with companies to design and implement environmental management systems to ISO14001 standard; and, similarly, we have considerable experience of helping to introduce management systems on human rights and labour standards, including compliance to SA8000 standards.

Successfully implementing improvements to corporate responsibility is usually a matter of evolution rather than revolution. Our approach is to work with the grain of a company as far as possible. For some clients we have helped build their in-house expertise from scratch; for others we have worked alongside existing CR, environment and citizenship teams.
